Blown glass is a magical media to work in. It is a continuous challenge to control a molten liquid as you help it evolve into your idea for it. Hot glass has a will of its own so this is a cooperative, interactive endeavor. It is a miracle that anybody could persuade a hot liquid at the end of a five-foot stick to do anything, so each piece is an adventure.
The inspiration for our work comes largely from the beauty we find in nature, the colors of flowers, the patterns in the sky or on bodies of water. The forms emphasize the flows and rhythms found in both nature and the fluidity of glass.
Landscapes of color are wrapped around vases and sculptures. Some pieces are cut with clear wraps of glass added; others are acid etched.
